What we'll do
Get ready for a fun-filled trip to Pinewood outdoor space and getting ‘Back to Nature’. This summer session is to an amazing purpose built nature park in Brandesburton where young people can explore, discover and connect with the outdoors in an exciting and hands-on environment! Young people will get so many different opportunities to explore a variety of nature-based outdoor areas and spaces while taking part in activities that encourage creativity, teamwork and adventure. Young people will have the chance to play outdoor games, discover wildlife and natural surroundings, build and create using natural materials, ride bike trails and enjoy practical activities such as outdoor cooking and campfire experiences, including making and cooking their own pizzas in the wonderful outdoor kitchen area. Our friendly, well-trained staff will be on hand throughout to provide support, encouragement and guidance, helping everyone feel safe, included while trying new experiences. The session is designed to promote wellbeing, resilience and curiosity, giving young people the opportunity to develop new skills, build friendships and enjoy the benefits of spending time outdoors. After exploring and creating, young people will be able to relax, socialise and enjoy a wide range tasty hot and cold food as part of the experience. As well as the opportunity to create their own pizza, there will be plenty of other food choices, including a wide range of sandwiches, fruits and snacks (with gluten free options available on request). More than just an outdoor activity session, Pinewood ‘Back to Nature’ is a chance for young people to switch off a bit from the modern world, have fun, build confidence and create some great lasting memories in the great outdoors! Although we are not SEND specific provider, our youth hub team regularly work with and provide support to children with SEND related needs. Although we are not in a position to be able to provide 1 to 1 support, we have and are more than happy to chat with parents and carers in advance of sessions to plan for any support that may be needed. Parents or a 1 to 1 worker for a young person are also able to attend our sessions. There are 10 paid for places available for this session at a cost of £10.00 per place. Paid for places can be booked through the Bridlington CYP website and are available on a first come first served basis. https://www.bridlingtoncyp.org/
