Tunnicliffe Education
Learn, Play and Craft
Tunnicliffe Education is dedicated to providing enriching and inclusive holiday experiences for children through our HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) clubs. Our mission is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to explore and learn at the wonderful venues in Oxford such as the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, fostering curiosity and a love for discovery. We emphasize creativity and hands-on engagement through arts and crafts activities, sparking imagination and joy. At Tunnicliffe Education, we also prioritize nutritional education, helping children develop healthy eating habits in a fun and interactive way. Our clubs provide a safe, welcoming environment where learning, creativity, and wellbeing come together to create memorable experiences for every child.
Livvy
Education and Culture Lead
I love HAF because it gives children a space to be curious, creative and confident outside the normal classroom setting. As an English and Philosophy teacher, I really value the chance to help young people think, communicate, ask questions and express themselves — whether that is through stories, discussion, craft, games or performance. HAF is special because it combines learning, food, friendship and fun in a way that can make a real difference to a child’s holiday.
Rough outline of the day
Children can be dropped off anytime between 8:00am and 9:00am. Children can be collected anytime between 2:30pm and 3:00pm. From 8:00am to 9:30am, there will be breakfast, relaxed craft activities and free play. This gives children time to arrive, settle in, eat, socialise and ease into the day. From around 9:30am, we will begin our main circus skills session. This will usually last for approximately two to three hours, with activities adapted to suit the group. Children will have the chance to try different performance and circus-based skills in a fun, supportive environment. After the main morning session, we will have a break followed by lunch. In the afternoon, there will be more activities, which may include games, creative challenges, performance activities, teamwork tasks and time to practise or share what children have been learning.
