What we'll do
The perfect class to come to with your child and learn to sew together on a Saturday (optional: on a Sunday)! Prices start from: - £40 per parent & child for a hand sewing class/party lasting 2 hours - £45 per parent & child for a 2½ hour class/party involving sewing machines including the tea party, to save making a mess at home! In this class we take you through how to thread up and use a sewing machine before making an item, to choose between an apron and a tote bag, that you can customise and take away with you at the end of the day. All materials are included in the cost of this class (Suitable for kids aged 8-15) and one space covers 1 parent and 1 child and all your materials. What to bring: You don’t have to bring anything to this class as everything is provided for you. This class is suitable for absolute beginners as we are taking you through the sewing machine basics. However it is also a nice experience for you and your child even if one or both of you already has some sewing experience. Please note- This session is a group activity for up to 6 people sewing in total. It is not individual tuition so children must be comfortable learning in a group setting.

FAQs
-Can we bring our own fabric to the Parent and Child class? Although materials are provided for both of you in this class you can bring your own fabric if you would like. Just bring along 2m of non stretch fabric(nothing slippy or see through). -My child has done sewing at school will the Parent and Child Class be too easy for them? It depends what they have done at school. In our experience kids enjoy doing something creative with their parent/guardian which means the actual project at hand isn't always the main focus. Tote bag are good fun to make even if you're an experienced sew-er and they are so useful! -Do you have a minimum age for the Parent and Child Class? In our kids classes the youngest we can take is from age 8 upwards for insurance purposes however if you child is younger as you will be with them to supervise we may allow younger than 8. You will be asked to sign a form to say you will take responsibility for them using the machine. Get in touch if you're not sure.
