What we'll do
During the course, run from our Buzz Active Cuckmere location in the Seven Sisters Country park, the group will work on developing personal skills, including communication, problem solving, collaborative working. We will explore the Cuckmere Valley, navigate its meander and tidal river, learning how to paddle a range of craft. We will work through the 'Paddle UK' junior syllabus and develop skills afloat, and on land. Working together as a group, we will paddleboard solo, work in a team to paddle the giant SUP, kayak and open canoe in pairs to complete the course. ***This activity has been funded through the Department for Education’s (DfE) Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme and coordinated by East Sussex County Council. Fully funded places are available for young people eligible for benefits-related free school meals. This eligibility criteria has been defined by the DfE. Additionally young people in several other target cohorts can attend funded places, such as those with SEND or Looked After Children (LAC). Please note, eligibility will be confirmed as part of the booking process.***

What students need to bring
We will supply wetsuits and windproof tops. All attendees will need footwear they can wear in the water. ( no loose slip on's, crocs, wellies or heavy boots) and a bottle of water for the day, sun cream and warm clothes for after the water sessions.

At the end of this course, attendees will have completed the Paddle UK's Youth 'paddle Discover' syllabus, having been introduced to a range of craft on the meander.
