A summary
This qualification is designed to meet the needs of those working away from immediate assistance (more than 30 mins) in the remote and rural regions of the UK. This Outdoor First Aid qualification is externally regulated and meets the standards to appear upon the national qualifications frameworks of England and Wales. The 2 day Outdoor First Aid Course is accepted by the UK Outdoor National Governing Bodies for their instructor awards. Topics include; roles & responsibilities, dealing with collapse (with and without breathing), choking, bleeding, shock, major illnesses, torso and limb injuries, environmental effects, heat and cold injuries, using first aid kit, outdoor specific scenarios and outdoor incident management, answering queries such as when or how to remove boots, helmets and looking after a casualty for some hours. This qualification is designed to provide outdoor incident management skills. Typical delivery methods are predominantly practical, with elements occurring out of doors in outdoor clothing and on various terrains. The course is assessed mainly by continual observation of candidate performance and a brief Multiple Choice Questionnaire. Peritia Training are delivering the course and are a registered centre with ITC First who are an Awarding Organisation Regulated by OfQual and SQA Accreditation.

Rooted in Nature provides activities and experiences that are open to anyone, with a focus on encouraging participation from people who are experiencing difficult and complex circumstances on a daily basis. Rooted in Nature's aims are to increase communities’ awareness of, access and connectivity to local green spaces, inland waterways and areas of natural beauty, by providing active and engaging learning experiences and connecting group activities. We provide these services to enable people who present with additional support needs to increase their physical activity levels as a route to helping improve health and wellbeing along with personal development programmes that can help improve self and social confidence. The activities we provide includes canoeing, kayaking, archery, paddle boarding, hiking and bushcraft for individuals and groups, in particular for those who are deemed at increased risk or hard to help, so as to improve their chances of achieving a fulfilling life.

We provide high quality, active and fun first aid courses throughout East Anglia and beyond. We specialise in Forest School, Paediatric and Outdoor First Aid.
Programme
8.45 to 9:00 Arrival, coffee and registration Outline programme for both days • 9:00- 11:00 Session 1 • 11:00 to 11:15 Break • 11:15 to 13:00 Session 2 • 13:00 to 13:30 Lunch • 13:30 to 15.30 Session 3 • 15.30 to 15:45 Break • 15:45 to 18.00 Session 4 If you arrive after 9:15am you will NOT be able to complete the qualification.
Assessment
The course does have an element of assessment. In order to pass the course attendees are required to take a full and active part in practising all of the procedures and protocols taught to provide for the necessary continual assessment opportunities. Requests for reasonable assessment adjustments by individuals with unique needs will be considered by Peritia Training Ltd and submitted to ITC First Aid Ltd as the awarding body, using forms C4 Access to Training and Assessment Form or C7 Special Considerations Form. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations and Refunds Cancellation by the client 1. All cancellations must be in writing with evidence of receipt/ confirmation. 2. All deposits are non-refundable. 3. Cancellations less than 12 weeks before course 50% of full payment will be refunded or 50% will be charged. 4. Cancellations less than 8 weeks before course 25% of full payment will be refunded or 75% will be charged. 5. Cancellations less than 4 week before the start day no refunds will be made, or full amount will still be charged. 6. In exceptional circumstances we MIGHT be able to transfer your place to another course- this depends on availability of another course and the reasons for postponing. We may be able to offer a refund minus an administration fee of 10% of the total course fee but this is in extreme circumstances where we try to offer a compassionate response. Cancellation by Rooted in Nature 1. Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that courses run, we will notify the client first by mobile text and then in email writing as soon as practical where we believe on reasonable grounds that cancellation is necessary due to factors beyond our control i.e. dangerous and/or unsuitable conditions for the course. 2. All monies paid to Rooted in Nature CIC in respect of the booking would be refunded in full or offered an alternative event/ date unless the booking was terminated due to the client failing to meet the booking conditions. Liability and Insurance: All participants must be aware of the potential hazards involved with activities and accept the risks associated. Rooted in Nature CIC is under no liability whatsoever in respect of loss or damage to property. Participants are most strongly advised to arrange their own suitable insurance cover. Rooted in Nature CIC is unable to offer any form of insurance cover (other than public liability). Groups are responsible for the cost of any damage they may cause. Rooted in Nature CIC accept no liability for additional course fees that may be associated to participating in a course.

My experience is an educational activity and the 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 therefore applies. After the 14 day period my standard policy will apply.
