Oppy Wood Fishing Lake Family Fun day

A free Family Fun Day will take place at Oppy Wood Lake, providing a welcoming, inclusive event for local children and families during the summer holidays. The aim of the day is to bring the community together, encourage outdoor activity, and offer positive, healthy experiences that are accessible to everyone. A range of exciting attractions will be available throughout the day, including a fairground ride attraction. Scrap Store will also be attending, delivering creative, fish themed arts and crafts activities that allow children to explore their imagination, learn new skills, and take home something they have made themselves. Children attending the event will be offered a free snack pack on a first come, first served basis. Each snack pack will include a sandwich, fruit, healthy snacks, crisps, and a drink. This will help ensure children are well nourished while taking part in activities and supports healthy eating during the school holidays. A wide range of local partners will be present on the day, offering games, activities, and engagement opportunities for families. Partners such as the police, fire brigade, St Mike’s Youth Project, and many others will provide interactive sessions that are both fun and informative. Information stalls will also be available, offering advice, and local information. First aid provision and appropriate facilities will be on hand to ensure that all children have the opportunity to take part and enjoy a memorable summer day. Please note: if your child is not yet of school age, they are welcome to attend this activity, but you do not need to make a booking for them.
