A summary

At Wild Bears forest school we aim to give all young people a collective insight into the ethos of forest School.
Forest School builds on a young person’s innate motivation and positive attitude to learning with the wildness of the outdoors, offering them the opportunities to take risks, make choices and initiate learning for themselves.
The forest school learning environment provides opportunities for young people to develop self-esteem, self-confidence, form positive relationships with others, develop a growing awareness of their emotional needs and the needs of others, learn to cooperate and work with their peers and adults and develop strategies in order to take risks within the boundaries of safety.
Forest school is about exploring and experiencing the natural world through practical activities. They go out in all weathers, all year round, exploring and learning from the seasons and environmental changes. Appropriate clothing will be worn and during high winds it will be considered unsafe to go into the woods.

About your mentor

Wild Bears Forest School

Wild and free for all, forest school.

Wild Bears Forest School

Forest School is a unique method of outdoor learning. At Wild Bears our aim to be diverse and inclusive, to encourage and inspire young children through positive outdoor experiences. Children will have the opportunity to learn about the natural environment, how to handle risks and most importantly to use their own initiative to solve problems and co-operate with others. They will play and learn boundaries of behaviour; both physical and social, establish and grow in confidence, self-esteem and become self-motivated.

Learning aims

Aim 1

Grow in confidence as a result of the freedom, time and space they are given in their learning. This allows them to demonstrate independence at each individual child’s rate.

Aim 2

Activities such as sharing tools and participating in play help teach the children to work together as a group, which strengthens their bonds and social skills.

Aim 3

The sensory experiences helps prompt language development. Improving communication skills has a positive effect on children self-esteem a crucial part of their development.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation & Weather Policy We love being outdoors, whatever the weather! However, children’s safety always comes first. Sessions may be cancelled or postponed if there is a Yellow Weather Warning, particularly due to high winds, lightning or thunder, or if conditions are considered unsafe. Sessions are also subject to a minimum of 10 children being booked. If this number is not reached, we may need to cancel the session and will let parents know as soon as possible. If Wild Bears forest school cancels a session, parents will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to an alternative session, where available.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
