A summary
We provide a creative and supportive space for young people to come together using specialist media equipment in our professional studios. They get to try out different activities and make music, radio and digital art to encourage their creativity. They try interviewing, music production, beat making, lyric writing, music video making, jingle production, photography, DJing, graffiti, animation, and live broadcasting on our own Ocean Youth online radio station.
We offer 4 days for 4 hours week at our Hyde Road studios in Paignton which has 5 different activity spaces including a live performance space with wide range of instruments to gather as a group and two recording studios. Our studios are easily accessible, located in the centre of Paignton and within a 1 minute walk of the bus and train station.
The 4-day block of activities are designed to be as fun and to encourage the young people as much as possible to join our community and access the opportunities, support, and facilities available at our studios. They will be gently encouraged to take the initial steps further, pushing their boundaries, making friends, and building self-confidence whilst learning digital music, broadcasting and creative media skills.
Our staff are skilled, experienced, responsive practitioners, qualified teachers or youth workers.
