A summary

Nature Connect: Swale Wellbeing for All is a welcoming six-week programme designed to help people connect with nature, improve their wellbeing and enjoy meaningful outdoor experiences with others.

Across the programme, participants will take part in a variety of nature-based activities including gentle outdoor walks, exploring local green spaces, practical gardening, nature creativity and opportunities to relax, connect and learn together.

Sessions will take place at different accessible green spaces around Sittingbourne, including Milton Creek Country Park, Diversity House Community Garden and St. Albany Park.

No previous gardening or outdoor experience is needed. Activities will be supportive and suitable for different levels of confidence and experience. The programme is also an opportunity to meet new people, reduce social isolation and discover simple ways of using nature to support everyday wellbeing.

The programme is delivered by Diversity House and is designed to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for people from different backgrounds and communities.

Six week Nature Connect Journey

Week 1 – Welcome to Nature Connect

Meet the group, explore the natural surroundings and begin your wellbeing journey through nature.

Week 2 – Exploring Nature Through Walking
14 September 2026 | Milton Creek Country Park
Enjoy a gentle group walk, connect with the outdoors and discover how walking in nature can support physical and mental wellbeing.

Week 3 – Gardening for Wellbeing: Part 1
21 September 2026 | Diversity House Community Garden
Get hands-on with gardening, learn practical skills and explore the positive connection between growing, nature and wellbeing.

Week 4 – Gardening for Wellbeing: Part 2
28 September 2026 | Diversity House Community Garden
Continue developing gardening skills while working together, sharing experiences and enjoying time outdoors.

Week 5 – Nature Creativity
5 October 2026 | St. Albany Park, Sittingbourne
Explore nature through creativity and use the outdoor environment as inspiration for a relaxing and enjoyable session.

Week 6 – Celebrating Nature
12 October 2026 | Diversity House Community Garden
Come together to reflect on the six-week journey, celebrate what we have experienced and explore ways to continue connecting with nature beyond the programme.

Diversity House is a community-focused charity based in Sittingbourne, Kent, committed to promoting integration, inclusion and social cohesion. We work with people from diverse, disadvantaged and underrepresented communities, providing inclusive opportunities that help individuals build confidence, develop skills, improve their health and wellbeing, and participate more fully in community life. Through education, employability and digital skills, health and wellbeing activities, nature-based programmes, creative workshops, community events and practical support, we help reduce isolation and barriers to participation while bringing people from different backgrounds together. Our work is rooted in the belief that diversity is a strength and that everyone should have the opportunity to feel valued, connected and empowered to reach their potential.

Places are limited and advance booking is encouraged. Repeated non-attendance without notice may affect priority for future limited-space activities.
