Natural Paint Making – then create...
Make natural, ephemeral paint using all natural materials - then make your own brush and get painting...
Use hand-made, wooden mortar & pestle with Chalk, Clay and Charcoal - plus other seasonal colours - to make powder, sieve and add water to make paint.
Make your own brushes too by bashing a hazel or elm wand until it has a fibrous tip.
Then paint… on paper, bark, leaves, trees, yourselves – use brushes, fingers, hands – shoes and socks off and walk around in the paint..! – throw it, splash it, dib it, dab it…
Lots of noise and bashing then relax and paint. Be prepared to get very grubby…!
All done with a Fire and a lot of Joy...
Given time - we will also have a look at how to make the Mortars.
