A summary
Step into the animation studio! Children are invited to explore their creativity in a fun and supportive environment where imagination, movement and teamwork come together. In our animation lab, participants design characters, draw storyboards and build simple sets before bringing their ideas to life through stop-motion filmmaking. Working in small groups, children learn how to plan scenes, move characters frame by frame and capture images to create their own short animated films. This collaborative process encourages storytelling, creativity and confidence as children share ideas and see their creations develop from concept to finished film. Alongside the animation activities, the session includes energetic games such as Bulldog and other inclusive playground-style activities that help children stay active, release energy and enjoy time outdoors. These games focus on participation and teamwork, allowing children of different ages and abilities to join in and have fun together. Balancing creative indoor activities with movement and outdoor play helps keep children engaged while supporting both physical wellbeing and social interaction. Creative arts and crafts also form part of the session, giving children additional opportunities to draw, colour and decorate elements for their animation projects or simply express themselves through making. Some children may wish to add details to their sets or characters, while others may enjoy sketching ideas or colouring in a calmer space. Providing a range of creative options helps ensure every child can participate in ways that suit their interests and energy levels. A healthy buffet-style meal is provided as part of the session, with a selection of balanced food options available for children to choose from. Fruit, vegetables, wraps and other nutritious foods help ensure children have the energy they need for the day’s activities. Snacks and drinks are also available, and dietary requirements are supported wherever possible. The buffet format encourages independence while allowing children to choose foods they enjoy. Throughout the session there is also time set aside for children to relax in a calm creative area. This quieter space offers activities such as drawing or reading, providing a break from the busier parts of the programme. This balance of creativity, movement and calm time helps children feel comfortable, engaged and confident throughout the session.

About your mentor
STEMPunx
Collaborate, Create and Learn YOUR way!
If you need some fun, exciting and thought-provoking Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths activities in your life consider embracing STEMPunx! We are a family company with a passion for learning, not for profit and we are all about learning from our community and with our community. But don’t expect us to stop at STEM subjects because everything you could possibly want to learn is multi-disciplinary! This means that science can be learnt through history, history can be learnt via art and art can be learnt through maths. We feel that all learning should be a combination of creation, collaboration and fun and that mental and emotional wellbeing are as important as academic learning. You don’t have to be young to be a learner. You also don’t have to be good at academic studies to be successful and you don’t have to sit still to be ‘working hard’. There are no limits to what you can learn or the route you can take to get there. Your learning experience should be unique because ‘YOU’ are the one learning and we can really get behind that. So whether you are a home educator, a student at school, a family, a class, a company or an individual. Community-based, club-based, school-based or passionate for your own or your family’s learning, STEMPunx might just be for you. Our sessions are lots of fun, as interactive as you want them to be and we will even develop a session or resource just for you!
