A summary
This programme is for children aged 6–14 who have a finalised EHCP and live in Milton Keynes.
The 4 sessions are fully funded by Milton Keynes City Council through the EHCP+ programme.

Children will work together to create their own film across October and November:
Session 1 – Planning & Story Development
Developing ideas, characters, scripts and storyboards.
Session 2 – Props & Preparation
Creating props, costumes and preparing for filming.
Sessions 3 & 4 – Filming
Acting, filming scenes and bringing their story to life.
Children will build confidence, creativity and teamwork while gaining hands-on experience in acting and filmmaking.

EHCP+ Programme
We’re excited to offer a fully funded 4-session film programme for young people, funded by Milton Keynes City Council through the EHCP+ programme.
The sessions are designed to be fun, creative and pressure-free, giving children the opportunity to explore filmmaking, build confidence and create their own film.
What to Expect
Across October and November, children will work together to develop and film their own production:
Session 1 – Planning & Story Development

Creating props and preparing everything needed for filming.
Sessions 3 & 4 – Filming
Acting, filming scenes and bringing their story to life.

About your mentor
MK Film Club
MK Film Club
We run MK Film Club and On the Talent Performing Arts. Joanna leads the provision and has a strong passion for the arts. She studied at The University of Northampton, gaining a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours in Media, Popular Culture and Drama, additionally has a Level 3 in Education and Training, and has been delivering filmmaking sessions across Milton Keynes and surrounding areas for over 10 years. Kara holds a professional diploma in Musical Theatre after training at Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama and currently works as a one-to-one singing tutor at Rhythm Room Music School. Kara continues to support session delivery across both provisions. Sessions are delivered by Joanna, with support from Kara and our wider experienced staff team. Our team includes teaching Assistants working within mainstream schools, support staff from specialist SEN schools, a qualified childminder, and school SEN administrative staff. All staff hold, as a minimum, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding and First Aid training. We hold full business insurance and all staff are DBS checked.
