What we'll do
In this workshop we will learn about the uplifting citrus bergamot. We will explore the plant profile of the bergamot tree (Citrus × limon), its history and ethnobotanical uses of bergamot in traditional medicine, food and perfumery. There will be bergamot citrus fruits, marmelade and tea for tasting. In the second part of the workshop we will make an aromatherapy spray using high quality organic essential oils from Oshadhi. We will engage with the essential oil of bergamot to understand the vibrational messages more deeply. Plants use scents to communicate with other plant and animal species, including humans. Even though we often pay little attention to our sense of smell, scents have a profound effect on the human psyche and emotional system. The basis for the aromatherapy spray will be sweet and cooling bergamot, which we will blend with oils such as soothing lavender, sweet orange or activating rosemary. This aromatherapy spray will immediately refresh and uplift the energies in your space. All materials are included in the workshop fee, you will take home an aromatherapy room spray (retail price of £10) and the skills to make your own!

Inge Kuijper
Ethnobotanist & Educator
I am passionate about the plant world, and love to learn and teach about everything that makes plants unique and essential for us to thrive. For several years I have been on a self-directed path, learning about ecovillage design, permaculture and ecosystem restoration design, quantum botanicals, herbal medicine, aromatherapy, and shamanism. In 2021 I completed my MSc in ethnobotany at the University of Kent, and have been teaching about People & Plants since.
