Live Reenactments – Witness the courage of Roman soldiers and the thrill of historic battles brought to life by the incredible reenactors of The Viccus and Britannia Historic Reenactors, renowned for their authentic displays of Roman military tactics and daily life. Living History Village – Step into a recreated Roman settlement, explore soldiers’ quarters, workshops, and domestic life, and experience history as it really happened. Interactive Workshops – Try your hand at Roman crafts, coin-making, traditional cooking, and even archery, guided by experts so you can test your aim like a Roman soldier. Gala Day Fun for All the Family – Enjoy a festival atmosphere with a bouncy castle, face painting, BBQ station, and lots more entertainment to keep every member of the family smiling. Meet the Experts – Historians, archaeologists, and reenactors from The Viccus and Britannia Historic Reenactors will be on hand to share insights and answer questions about life in Roman Britain. Falconry Displays - Raphael Historic Falconry are the longest established professional historic falconers in the UK. They cleverly combine birds, stories, costumes, and history to create completely unique falconry events. Whether you’re a history buff, a parent looking for an educational outing, or simply curious about life 2,000 years ago, the Lunt Roman Fort Festival 2026 offers an unforgettable adventure for everyone.

This Roman spectacular is a very popular and busy event. It is not a HAF only event, and members of the general public will also be in attendance. The event often sees crowds of up to 800 people across the festival, but please note the venue is large and mostly outdoor with plenty of space for everyone. The various activities, showcases and performances are repeated throughout the day, meaning you can make this a full day experience and there is always something to get involved with. The site is wheelchair accessible, with the exception of the Ramparts. Parking is available onsite, but the venue can get very busy during the festival, so for those who are driving the the venue, you may be directed to park elsewhere by our team. This will require a 5-10 minute walk back to the venue. Public transport routes are available. The best way to get to the Lunt by public transport is on the Number 25 bus from Pool Meadow Bus Station (which also visits the railway station). The bus stops by the Old Mill pub; from there, it is around a 5 minute walk to the Fort. If you require support with or access to transportation, please make this known at the time of booking, so that Culture Coventry can support you. We do not want transport to be a barrier for families, and can arrange for supported transport on the day of the festival from the city centre, as required.

This is a family event. Parents/carers are required to remain with their children at all times. Children will remain the responsibility of their parents/carers at all times. Younger siblings are welcome, as part of this family inclusive event.
