A summary
Lower Intermediate level player A lower intermediate player demonstrates clear control over the fundamental mechanics of padel and can sustain rallies consistently at a good recreational level. Basic groundstrokes, serves, returns, and volleys are dependable under moderate pressure. Errors still occur when pace increases or decision-making becomes complex, but routine balls are handled reliably. Rally tolerance is significantly higher than at improver level. The player can execute most common shots with functional consistency. Forehands and backhands can be directed with some intention, including moderate use of depth and angles. Volleys are controlled and used to maintain net position rather than simply block the ball back. Lobs are now a tactical tool and are reasonably accurate. In overhead play, the player can execute bandejas and standard smashes with moderate consistency, though placement and variation are still limited. Viboras may be attempted occasionally but are not yet dependable under pressure. Aggressive finishing smashes are inconsistent. Tactically, lower intermediate players understand basic point construction. They recognize when to defend patiently and when to attack. They usually move with their partner in a coordinated way and understand standard formations. However, anticipation is still developing, and players may struggle to adapt tactically against stronger or more varied opponents. Decision-making can become rushed in fast exchanges. Comfort across the court is improving substantially. Lower intermediate players are generally comfortable using the back wall and can defend many common situations after rebounds. Side-wall defense remains less natural but is no longer avoided. At the net, players are confident in standard exchanges but can struggle against heavy pressure, difficult overheads, or fast body shots. At this level, players are beginning to understand that padel is fundamentally a tactical and positional sport rather than simply a technical one. They can build points with moderate patience and often win through consistency and court positioning rather than outright winners. The transition toward higher intermediate level comes from improving overhead quality, defensive resilience, and tactical awareness under pressure. 10 Week Plan Topics 01-Jun Defense from the back 08-Jun Maintaining the net with the bandeja 15-Jun Defending the Corner & Double Glass 22-Jun Pressuring with the volleys 29-Jun Matchplay and assessment 06-Jul Attacking with the chiquita 13-Jul Different types of lobs & taking the net 20-Jul The gancho and when to use it 27-Jul Attacking overheads
