A summary

Together we will look at art at the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne. We will ask and try to answer questions about how art informs the world around us and changes as time goes by. What are artists trying to express? And how does this affect us? We will explore all of these issues and our confidence in talking about art will increase and this will help us articulate our thoughts and feelings.

About your mentor

I am passionate about visual art and have been looking at art all over the world for the last 20 years. I have made art myself since I was a child. I love sharing my passion and talking about art with others, especially young people who I have always enjoyed working with. I have more formal experience as I was a secondary teacher of philosophy for 12 years and I have lots of experience with primary aged children too. Most importantly I believe in the power of art to change lives and bring creativity to our learning and development. There is nothing quite like it!
