A summary
This free 4- week cooking club offers children aged 5–11 the opportunity to learn practical cooking skills in a fun and supportive environment. Across weekly sessions, children will prepare simple healthy dishes, learn about food hygiene and nutrition, and work together in small groups to build confidence and independence. The programme encourages teamwork, creativity and healthy eating habits, and concludes with a special graduation celebration where families are invited to see what the children have learned and certificates are awarded to recognise their achievements. PLEASE NOTE: You may only book for one group and you must be able to attend all sessions. Each group will participate in the same programme. - If your child attends one of our catchment schools, we may be able to support with pick up from school. Schools include - Fielding Primary, Grange Primary, Little Ealing Primary and Mount Carmel Primary. Once your booking requested your child's, please allow us 5 working days to review registrations before we approve and confirm the booking. You will receive this directly from Eequ. Inclusive play where all young people grow
The Log Cabin Charity is an inclusive, independently run organisation based in Ealing, London. It provides affordable after-school clubs, weekend sessions, holiday playschemes, and short breaks for children and young people aged 4–15 with additional needs or disabilities, alongside their mainstream peers. The charity offers a safe and supportive space where children can play freely, build friendships, and grow in confidence through a range of indoor and outdoor activities. With a strong focus on specialist SEN support and inclusive play, the Log Cabin nurtures resilience, creativity, and community belonging.
What Children Will Learn
Children will develop practical cooking skills while learning about healthy eating, food hygiene and teamwork. Each session encourages confidence, independence and creativity in the kitchen.
Learning aims
Aim 1
Understand the importance of basic food hygiene and kitchen safety. Develop simple cooking skills such as chopping, mixing, measuring and assembling ingredients.
Aim 2
Recognise the importance of healthy eating and balanced meals. Gain confidence in following simple recipes and preparing dishes independently or with support.
Aim 3
Improve teamwork and communication skills by working together in small groups. Explore different foods and flavours, helping them become more confident trying new foods.
