Light Duty Bucksaw Workshop

Mark Clarke

A summary
We will make a Light Duty Bucksaw, a saw that can be made from materials available at your camp and a few lightweight parts you can carry in your backpack. We will use coppiced hazel, paracord, a couple of nuts and bolts and a Bowsaw Blade.
You will be shown how to make the Bucksaw using a range of some traditional and modern tools in order to be able to compare different approaches. If you have equipment you would like to use please do bring it along.
Once you have constructed your Bucksaw you will have the opportunity to use it to process dry material for fire wood.
Please note there is a small additional fee of £4 payable on the day to cover the cost of materials.
