A summary
A one off Easter life drawing special for people who love to work from a model, led by local artists Joelle Matthews, Catherine Greenwood & Gybe Gilbert.
Price : £30 for this Easter special . Please note that we are a small co operative group and we aim to cover our costs during the sessions. We can offer a concession price for students 18+ or people on a low income, please request a bespoke invoice.
Beginners and experienced artists are welcome to this session, please bring your own materials (charcoals and pastels especially for this session) and paper or whatever materials you'd like to create with.
Easels, boards and tables will be provided, there are jam jars and water available .
Our 3 hour drawing session will start with a 30 minute collaborative drawing/observation process with the life model followed by some ink wash exercises working into those initial drawings for a further 30 minutes. We'll tidy up the studio and prepare for 2 X 20 minute longer poses with our model. They'll be a short break and we'll then review our work together and then spend the last 30 minutes using one image to work further into experimentally.
Wine and nibbles will be provided during the evening and we suggest that you bring some water or a snack along.
Top Studio will be open 10 minutes before we start drawing so please be ready to start promptly.
The drawing session runs for 3 hours allowing 15 minutes at the end to tidy up, putting back easels & stools etc
Parking in the carpark is free at Tobias, Top Studio is a short walk from the carpark and up a fairly steep metal staircase with a handrail. Please do take care if you are carrying equipment.
Once the session is in progress, a curtain will be drawn across the door, to keep in the warmth and also to retain some privacy for the model.
The toilet is in the office building opposite the Top Studio on the ground floor.
Please note: We respectfully ask that any current Social Distancing guidelines be observed. Put mobile phones onto aeroplane mode. Only take photographs with the model's permission.
