A summary

Crib goch and the Snowdon horseshoe is not for the faint hearted. This event is for ladies who haven’t done it before and have always wanted to. You will need a head for heights! You will also need good supportive footwear, such as good grippy trail shoes or lightweight walking boots. A medium sized, well fitting rucksack …see the kit list. We will meet at the car park on the side of the road just past Pen-y-grwydd hotel, it’s on the left hand side just past the turning for Llanberis. (Postcode LL55 4NT) This will save having to park at pen-y-pass which is both very busy and expensive! The car park we will use is also pay and display. The whole walk is 10 miles long and very hard work in places so good fitness is required. It can take at least 8 hours to get round, sometimes longer, so be prepared for a long, hard day. It will be an early start! We will meet here at 5.30am to try and avoid some of the crowds! So if you are travelling it may be better to stay the night before, there are plenty of campsites in the area. Full kit list as follows: 25 litre rucksack 2 litres of water/fluid (3 litres if weather is predicted to be 24 degrees or more) Packed lunch (more than you would usually eat day to day) Snacks such as chocolate and peanuts or fruit bars Extra fleece jumper Spare socks Hat and gloves Waterproof coat Waterproof trousers Walking boots or trail shoes preferably with ankle support Phone Blister plasters and painkillers Sun screen if needed. ** Be aware that if the weather is particularly windy or gusts are predicted and or heavy rain, I will have to take the option of a different route to avoid Crib goch, this decision won’t be taken lightly. Your safety is always the most important! **

Jan

Mud, sweat and fun!

Jan

My name is Jan and I’ve been running adventures for Love Her Wild since we started. I love doing what I do and getting people outside enjoying themselves. I’ve made some fantastic friendships myself through doing this. I grew up on a sheep farm in north Wales and have always loved walking, hiking and wild camping. I qualified as a mountain leader in 2017 after years of experience.
