A summary
The Yard is a welcoming space where young people can connect, make friends and try something new. We start conversations that bring people together to listen, learn, play and laugh; grow, cook and eat; and create, make and work. During the summer holidays, young people will take part in a varied programme of gaming, crafting, reading, storytelling and podcasting. They can enjoy board games, Dungeons & Dragons, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, virtual reality, gaming PCs and our arcade machine. Creative activities will encourage young people to use their imagination, learn new skills and make something fabulous, with all materials provided. At The Yard, we offer space to be creative, be social and have lots of fun. Giving young people opportunities to build confidence, develop practical skills and make new connections throughout the summer.

Community Court Yard is a Northampton-based not-for-profit social enterprise that brings young people together through inclusive youth work, creative activities and shared experiences. At The Yard, young people can make friends, build confidence and try something new through gaming, cooking, crafts, storytelling, reading and podcasting. From Xbox, VR and Dungeons & Dragons to preparing food and creating mini-zines, there is something for everyone. Connect. Create. Change. Book your place today!
When you arrive
When you arrive at The Yard, you’ll receive a warm welcome from our team: Stephen, Chris, Isaac, Lewis, Luke and Rue. You’ll sign in, and if it’s your first visit, we’ll help you complete a membership form so we can learn a little more about you, your interests and the things you enjoy. Then it’s time to get involved! You can game, craft, cook and take part in all the activities The Yard has to offer.

What you'll need
You won't need anything but yourself - all equipment is provided. Please remember that.... We treat everyone with kindness at The Yard, We know that we are all different and we deserve to be our authentic selves. The Yard is a LGBTQIA safe space and we work hard to make sure that everyone has a great time. Which means, we do not tolerate bullying, hateful speech, bad language, violence / threatening behaviour. There is no smoking or drugs taking / drinking alcohol on site - and you must not be under the influence of any substance in order to have a go at any of the activities that we offer.
