A summary
The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work qualification is specifically designed for individuals who wish to act as a first aider in their workplace. Successful candidates will learn how to manage a range of injuries and illnesses that could occur at work and will be equipped with the essential skills needed to give emergency first aid. PLEASE NOTE: This course is a requalification course and requires that the learner has already done a full First Aid at Work certificate previously (the FAW certificate needs to be either in date or recently expired within 3 weeks of the course start date). Please note - Delegates must be able to show competent CPR on the ground for 2 minutes to a casualty.

Give your staff the confidence they need to deal with common workplace injuries and illnesses while complying with your legal obligations under health and safety regulations by sending your staff on a fully certified, approved and regulated first aid course. Entrust are an Ofqual approved Centre and all of our trainers are experts in their delivery area with real life experience. Qualsafe are one of the biggest approvers of first aid in the UK and they provide our lesson plans and resources.
Description
Over 2 days of training, learners will refresh the skills and knowledge required to deal with a range of first-aid incidents and situations associated with a the work environment. The course will update the learner on: dealing with an unresponsive casualty, perform CPR recognising and deaingl with a casualty having a seizure providing aid for both minor and major injuries This course will also enable the learner to recognise and better deal with a range of common medical conditions including diabetes, heart problems, asthma, anaphylaxis etc. AED usage is also covered on the course. The day will consist of several practical assessments and depending on which course you have booked onto one or two multi choice assessments at the end of the day. The result from this will be given to you on the day. Lunch is not provided. There is an on site cafe and vending machine available to purchase food and drinks or alternatively you may bring your own food. Photo identification must be shown to the trainer on the first day of the course. Please wear appropriate clothing, as due to the nature of the course, you will be working on the floor at times. All course materials including booklets and handouts will be supplied.
Outcomes
This course will enable you to: Satisfy your businesses needs in providing a first aid provision. Be able to better assess the level of medical help required for a casualty. Administer effective first aid in accordance with current recognised practices guidelines. Achieve a nationally recognised qualification for another 3 years.
