LAMSOM HAF Programme block mentored by LAMSOM

A summary

LAMSOM will organise a variety of engaging indoor and outdoor physical activities for children and young people participating in the HAF Lambeth Summer 2025 programme. We aim to support at least 45 young people from low-income Somali families in the Lambeth area. The activities will include sports sessions such as football, tennis, basketball, and boxing. In addition, we will organise educational trips throughout the summer to further enrich the participants’ experiences.

Uplifting Somali lives in Lambeth

LAMSOM is a grassroots organisation dedicated to supporting Somali people in Lambeth. We provide vital services that strengthen our community, including educational and sports programmes for children and young people, women-focused activities such as sewing classes and coffee mornings, and bilingual advocacy and advice for Somali families and older adults on housing, benefits, and other essential needs. We also organise culturally sensitive workshops on a myriad of important topics, such as health and wellbeing and employment support. At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to empowering, uplifting, and uniting the Somali community in Lambeth.
