A summary
Join Kidwise this summer for 12 days of exciting science and engineering adventures at Parkview Community Centre in Woking. Each day begins with Tinker Time, where children can explore Lego engineering challenges, marble runs, construction kits, puzzles and creative STEM activities whilst settling in and making new friends. After fun team games and icebreakers, children become scientists and engineers for the day. They might build and launch air-powered rockets, create erupting volcanoes, test the strength of bridges they have designed, make slime and discover the science of polymers, investigate electricity by building circuits, or design boats and see if they can float. Every session is hands-on. Children won't be sitting and listening to presentations – they'll be mixing, building, testing, designing and experimenting themselves. A hot lunch is provided daily, giving children time to relax and socialise with their friends before heading outdoors. The afternoon is dedicated to active play and outdoor games. Children will take part in activities such as capture the flag, relay races, team challenges, football, giant parachute games, scavenger hunts and obstacle courses. Throughout the programme, children will develop confidence, creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills whilst having fun and making lasting summer memories. Daily science themes include: • Rocket Engineers • Crazy Chemistry Lab • Bridge Builders • Amazing Machines • Volcano Explorers • Egg Drop Engineers • Marble Run Challenge • Super Slime Scientists • Space Academy • Build a Boat Challenge • Electricity Detectives • Inventors' Showcase A hot lunch and treat are included each day.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like?
10:00am – 10:30am Tinker Time Children settle in with STEM activities, Lego challenges, puzzles and construction tasks. 10:30am – 11:00am Circle Time & Team Games Fun icebreakers, quizzes and team-building activities. 11:00am – 12:00pm Science & Engineering Workshop A different hands-on STEM challenge every day, including rockets, slime, volcanoes, bridge building, electricity and engineering projects. 12:00pm – 1:00pm Hot Lunch & Social Time A nutritious hot lunch and treat are provided daily. 1:00pm – 2:00pm Outdoor Games & Active Play Football, relay races, scavenger hunts, team games and other physical activities. Food Provision A hot lunch is included every day. We can accommodate most dietary requirements and allergies with advance notice. Please ensure all dietary information is included on your booking form. What Should My Child Bring? • Water bottle • Comfortable clothing • Suitable footwear for outdoor activities • Any required medication All science equipment and activity resources are provided by Kidwise.
