Have you ever thought about learning how to DJ, scratch or rap? Now's your chance with Beats Bus and their introduction Session! In these sessions you'll be taught how to DJ, what it means to scratch records, and you will also get the opportunity to learn how to Rap! Whether you are an expert or novice, this is your opportunity to level up your skills! This session will be taking place in Pearson Park, located just off Princess Avenue! Make sure to keep your eyes out for the Beats Bus!

Putting Music at the Heart of Hull
Hull Music Service – Lead Partner for the Humber Music hub Hull Music Service has over 40 teachers who teach over 6000 children and young people in schools and colleges across the City. At its home – The Albemarle Music Centre (next to Hull Truck on Ferensway) the Music Service also provides a comprehensive ranges of groups, choirs, ensembles, band and orchestras. The Albemarle also hosts a wide range of additional workshops, events and performances. For schools these inspirational musical experiences can tailored to complement, enrich and contribute to the wider school curriculum and/or priorities in a school’s music plan. Through an ever increasing network of partnerships, Hull Music Service is engaging with schools and the wider community through a variety of projects, from singing to song-writing, composition to urban music as well as Live Music for Schools and large showcase events in the City’s premier venues such as the Middleton Hall, Hull Minster, Connexin Live and City Hall. Hull Music Service is committed to supporting our most vulnerable young people, including supporting Children with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) and Hull’s Looked After Children, by forging closer links with schools, key community organisations and specialist providers. This work will ensure that access to music opportunities in Hull is both equitable and relevant to the needs of the children and young people across the city. Hull Music Service would like to thank all of the City’s schools, families, children, young people and partner organisations (both in the City and further afield) for their ongoing commitment and passion for music-making.

Beats Bus Records (BBR) is an award-winning not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to transforming the lives of children and young people through the power of hip-hop, music, and creativity. Founded in 2018, BBR delivers free, inclusive outreach, mentoring, workshops, and performance opportunities that improve mental health and wellbeing, build confidence, develop skills, and create positive pathways away from crime, exploitation, and social isolation.
