The Standard Price of £165 covers the full assessment. I also offer consultancy sessions for £55. Please message me to discuss your needs.

What we'll do

We will begin with a free 20min phone chat so that you can share your concerns about your child and to help me choose the appropriate assessments. I will also ask you for some background information and send you a form to complete.

The assessment lasts between 2 and 3 hours and covers a range of different tests and activities to see what your child is struggling with and how it impacts learning and behaviour.

I will write up a report and include some strategies and recommendations to help your child reach their full potential and to help you understand your child's difficulties and how best to support them.

Ongoing support and an option for further sessions will be available depending on the outcome of the assessment.

My educational consultancy service rate is £55

Dyslexia and Retained Reflexes

INTEGRATED ASSESSMENT

This includes dyslexia screening and the underlying causes of presenting difficulties.
Dyslexia is often seen in isolation to other learning difficulties, but there is often an overlap.

I work with a wide range of assessments that look at some of the underlying causes for presenting difficulties including reading, spelling, writing, attention, behaviour and coordination.

I will carry out the assessment, explain the results including a written report and give you some useful strategies and recommendations.

ASSESSMENTS FOR RETAINED REFLEXES

Which underpin a range of difficulties.
Reflexes are an innate series of movements all babies make which lay the foundations for posture, sensory processing, emotions and brain development. Sometimes, through trauma, illness or for other reasons, this process is disrupted and the reflexes are retained leading to a range of difficulties including:

• Autistic spectrum disorder
• Gross and fine motor delays
• Developmental delays
• Coordination & balance
• Attention & concentration
• Learning difficulties
• Emotional & behavioural problems
• Sensory integration

See https://www.rhythmicmovement.org/ for more information.

I will carry out a full assessment of these early childhood movements, balance and coordination and then set a program that uses these natural movements to integrate the primitive and postural reflexes enabling your child to reach their full potential.

I oversee the program. It isn’t complicated, it is fun and easy to do taking only a few minutes each day to make positive long lasting change.

About your mentor

Pathways to Potential

from roots to shoots

Pathways to Potential

I am a Dyslexia Specialist and Movement Therapist in developmental Reflex Integration. I started off as a Primary Teacher over 30 years ago. During this period I had three children and experienced many failings of the school system in not meeting their different learning styles especially as one one of my children has dyslexia. This sent me down the route of studying learning difficulties which is an ongoing journey of discovery. I am now working as a Special Needs Teacher, Trainer and Advisor with experience in Mainstream, Independent and Steiner school settings, as well as working in my own practice offering Integrated Assessments. I became interested in why some children just didn’t seem to make progress no matter how hard they worked on their phonics, reading and writing. I realised that there was little point in teaching the thing that the child was struggling with if the root of the problem hadn’t been identified or addressed. So I began to explore the underlying issues and their impact on learning, which strategies are effective and which ones work for different children.
