What we'll do
The Imaginations Station project is a youth-led initiative designed to support young people to explore pathways into climate and environmental action in a way that is relational, experiential, and grounded in real local practice. Rather than beginning with predefined outcomes, the programme creates a structured space for exploration. Young people are invited to engage with a range of local organisations working across the environmental sector, and to begin identifying where their own interests, skills, and motivations may lie. Initially, participants will spend time with six partner organisations already working across Torbay: Safe Sustainable Travel Torbay Dolphin Zone Seal Project Ocean Conservation Trust Our Patch at Parkfield Roots Media Each session is designed to: introduce real-world climate and environmental practice (including conservation, citizen science, climate communication, advocacy, adaptation, and behaviour change) provide access to the lived experience and pathways of people working in these fields, support informal reflection on what kinds of environmental action feel meaningful and engaging for each young person. The emphasis is on exposure, connection, and emergent motivation, rather than predetermined learning outcomes. The project as it develops will be co-shaped with young people based on their interests, energy, and emerging ideas, and will support the development of a dedicated youth environmental hub at Parkfield CIC, as a potential model for replication across Torbay.
