A summary

We are running a long term Forest School program for 5hrs one day a week for 6 weeks this is a drop of sessions for Home Educated Children.
We form a small supportive group of children to encourage everyone to have the time and space to feel safe and experience our wonderful forest.
The forest benefits from a nice and relaxed learner lead atmosphere where every individual can explore , discover and learn at their own pace and with their own interests.

All sessions are led by a qualified Forest School Leader. We carefully observe each child and plan sessions by their individuals interests. So each session can change depending on where the play takes them, We work together to facilitate this play and nurture it.
There is always something to keep them busy like playing group games, swinging or relaxing in the hammock, climbing trees, building shelters , natural crafts and connecting and learning about nature. Everyone will learn new life skills, this could be in the form of campfire cooking , using tools safely and learning to use them correctly, building resilience, learning about themselves, how to communicate as a group and being part of a community . Not to forget to mention just having lots of fun !!
We are fully insured and All staff are DBS checked and have undergone safeguarding training.

About your mentor

Kim at Little Trees

Assisting you to connect, discover & succeed

Kim at Little Trees

I have been working with children in a classroom setting for 13 years. My love for nature, being outside and working with children drew me to Forest School and in 2018 I qualified as a Level 3 Forest School practitioner. The start of 2022 my real journey began as I branched out and set up Little Trees Forest School and now work in the woods full time. I am passionate about getting children outside to learn though play. We do this by being outside all year around using what nature provides from one season to the next, learning how to look after and respect the environment. The children experience real life skills such as using tools, lighting fires problem solving and are encouraged to take manageable risks in a safe environment under close supervision.
