A summary

This Summer our HAF Club is packed full of fun, creativity, and adventure! Each day offers a fantastic variety of activities to keep children active, engaged, and smiling from start to finish. Children will enjoy a mix of sports, arts and crafts, and themed activities, all led by our qualified and experienced staff. With access to both indoor and outdoor spaces, there’s always something exciting to do—whether it’s getting active in a sports session, creating summer-inspired crafts, or taking part in fun challenges. Our caring team goes above and beyond to make sure every child feels included and valued, adapting activities to suit individual interests and abilities. We take pride in creating a warm, welcoming environment where children can build confidence, make friends, and have a truly fun-filled summer experience every day. Each day, children will also enjoy a healthy lunch and snack, with drinks available throughout the day. As part of our hands-on approach, children will have the opportunity to get involved in simple cooking and food preparation, learning how to create their own healthy, delicious meals and snacks—perfect for keeping their energy up for all the fun ahead! What we'll do

Week 1: Gardening Week – Growing, Nature & Outdoor Discovery This week is all about exploring nature, learning where our food comes from, and getting hands-on in the garden. Children will: Plant and grow their own cress, herbs, and simple vegetables for use in sandwiches and snacks Learn about how fruits, vegetables, and flowers grow through fun, interactive discussions Take part in a visit to a local garden centre to explore plants, gardening tools, and seasonal flowers Create beautiful flower and plant-themed artwork, including painting and collage activities inspired by nature Develop an understanding of caring for the environment through watering, planting, and observing growth over time A calm, creative, and hands-on week designed to build curiosity about nature and healthy eating. Week 2: Community Week – Helping Others & Exploring Our Local Area This week focuses on kindness, community spirit, and understanding the importance of helping others. Children will: Visit a local residential home to engage in intergenerational activities, games, and conversations Take part in supervised litter picking walks to help care for the local environment Explore the local area on guided walks, building confidence in road awareness and community spaces Visit local shops to deliver food donations, learning about food banks and supporting those in need Take part in literacy-based activities inspired by the National Literacy Trust, including storytelling, reading challenges, and creative writing A meaningful week that builds empathy, confidence, and a sense of belonging within the community. Week 3: Safety Week – Learning to Stay Safe in Everyday Life This week is designed to help children understand important safety rules in a fun and engaging way. Children will: Learn essential road safety skills, including crossing roads safely and understanding traffic signals Explore safety at home, including fire hazards, electricity, and general household awareness Take part in interactive online safety sessions, learning how to stay safe when using devices and the internet Design and create safety posters to reinforce key messages in a creative way Enjoy visits from local police and fire services, giving children the chance to see vehicles, equipment, and ask questions A practical and engaging week that empowers children with lifelong safety knowledge. Week 4: Getting Active Week – Sport, Energy & Celebration A high-energy week packed with sport, movement, and exciting visitor sessions. Children will: Take part in a sports day filled with fun races, team games, and friendly competition Enjoy sessions with visiting professional sports players, including PUFC players and ice hockey athletes Try new activities such as gymnastics, archery, bowling, and multi-sport challenges Take part in music and movement sessions to encourage rhythm, coordination, and self-expression Build teamwork, resilience, and confidence through a variety of physical activities End of week celebration: The programme finishes with a fun-filled party day, celebrating everything the children have achieved over the summer, with games, music, and special treats.
