A summary
This Easter our HAF Club is packed full of fun, creativity, and adventure! Each day offers a fantastic variety of activities to keep children active, engaged, and smiling from start to finish. Children will enjoy a mix of sports, arts and crafts, and themed activities, all led by our qualified and experienced staff. With access to both indoor and outdoor spaces, there’s always something exciting to do—whether it’s getting active in a sports session, creating Easter-inspired crafts, or taking part in fun challenges. Our caring team goes above and beyond to make sure every child feels included and valued, adapting activities to suit individual interests and abilities. We take pride in creating a warm, welcoming environment where children can build confidence, make friends, and have a truly fun-filled festive experience every day. Each day, children will also enjoy a healthy lunch and snack, with drinks available throughout the day. As part of our hands-on approach, children will have the opportunity to get involved in simple cooking and food preparation, learning how to create their own healthy, delicious meals and snacks—perfect for keeping their energy up for all the fun ahead! What we'll do
Day 1 – Plan, Buy & Cook Theme focus: Easter Food & Healthy Choices Planning the meal Together in groups of 4 • Welcome circle and Easter-themed icebreaker games • Introduction to healthy eating using the Eatwell Plate • Children plan a simple Easter-inspired meal (e.g. veggie wraps, fruit salad nests, hot cross bun pudding) in groups of four • Discussion on budgeting, food groups, allergies, and cultural food choices Buy • Supervised local shopping trip (or role-play shop if off-site trips aren’t possible) • Children use a simple shopping list and budget • Talk about reading labels, choosing fresh food, and reducing food waste talk about the colour codes on the labels Cook & Eat • Hands-on cooking session in small groups • Safe food prep skills: washing hands, chopping (age-appropriate), measuring also looking at time limits and allergies that might be in your group • Shared lunch together • Reflection activity: What did we enjoy? What did we learn? Day 2 – Easter Outing Day Theme focus: Explore & Be Active Outing Idea: • Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery – Easter trail and creative sketching Activities • Look at the artwork that is displayed (nature items, colours, shapes) • Physical: create an easter picture like the ones you saw at the museum whilst listening to music to inspire your painting Day 3 – Easter Challenge Build Day Theme focus: Creativity, STEM & Problem Solving Challenges • Build an Easter basket that can hold an egg using recycled materials • Easter egg hunt can your basket hold the eggs you have found • time-limited teamwork challenges to find all the eggs and ensure all your team have the same amount of eggs Reflection • Children explain their designs • Celebrate effort, teamwork, and creativity (not just success) Day 4 – Local Community Day Theme focus: Belonging & Giving Back Community Connections • Visit from a local community helper (library staff, park ranger, community volunteer) • Talk about how people help in Peterborough Community Activity Options • Create Easter cards for local care homes and walk to deliver them to the care home • Litter-pick in a local green space with child-safe equipment on walk to the care home
