A summary
Higher Intermediate Player Level A higher intermediate player is consistently reliable in most areas of the game and can compete effectively in strong club-level matches. Rally tolerance is high, and unforced errors are relatively controlled unless under sustained pressure from advanced opponents. Players can maintain quality through long exchanges and adjust tempo depending on the situation. Technically, this level includes competence across nearly the full range of standard padel shots. Forehands and backhands are controlled with good directional accuracy and depth variation. Volleys are stable and purposeful, with players able to absorb pace, redirect the ball, and create pressure. Lobs are accurate and strategically used. Defensive skills off the back and side glass are dependable. In overhead play, players can consistently execute bandejas and viboras, understanding the tactical difference between maintaining the net and attacking for a winner. Flat smashes and angle smashes are functional, though not always decisive against strong defenses. Advanced kick smashes may exist but are not consistently effective. Tactically, higher intermediate players understand point construction well. They identify opponent weaknesses, vary pace intentionally, and recognize high-percentage patterns. Positioning with a partner is coordinated and fluid. Transitioning between defense and attack is generally efficient. Players begin to manipulate opponents using depth, height, and placement rather than relying solely on pace. Comfort exists in nearly all areas of the court. Defending difficult wall rebounds is manageable, and players are comfortable resetting points from defensive positions. Net play is confident, including handling quick exchanges and body pressure. Anticipation and reading of the game are improving significantly. What separates higher intermediate players from advanced players is mainly precision and pressure tolerance. They still experience drops in execution against high pace or elite tactical pressure. Overhead selection may occasionally be suboptimal, and consistency can fluctuate in competitive environments. Nevertheless, this level represents a strong, well-rounded padel player who understands the strategic identity of the sport and can execute most situations competently. 10 Week Block Topics 01-Jun Defense from the back 08-Jun Maintaining the net with the bandeja 15-Jun Defending the Corner & Double Glass 22-Jun Pressuring with the volleys 29-Jun Matchplay and assessment 06-Jul Attacking with the chiquita 13-Jul Different types of lobs & taking the net 20-Jul The gancho and when to use it 27-Jul Attacking overheads 03-Aug Recovering deep lobs & the bajada
