A summary
Beatsabar’s Christmas Holiday Workshop is a 4-day festive music project for young people aged 9–16, taking place on 22–23 December and 2–3 January from 10am–3pm. Each day, participants will come together to write and record original songs, play live instruments, and explore music production, songwriting, karaoke, DJing and more alongside our friendly and experienced team of tutors. The workshop is open to all skill levels – whether you’re a complete beginner or already making music, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. It’s a fun, safe and welcoming environment where creativity, teamwork and confidence can grow. Lunch will be provided each day. Funded by Wolverhampton Council’s HAF programme.

10:00 – 10:30am Welcome & Icebreakers Sign in, introductions, team games, and warm-up activities.
10:30 – 11:30am Music Production / Songwriting Learn how to create beats, write lyrics, and start developing original songs.
11:30 – 12:00pm Instrument & Vocal Practice Play live instruments, experiment with sounds, and rehearse as a group.
12:00 – 12:30pm Lunch Break A provided lunch and time to relax or socialise.
12:30 – 1:30pm DJing & Performance Skills Explore DJ techniques, stage presence, and performance confidence.
1:30 – 2:30pm Group Song Development Work in small groups to refine and record songs with support from mentors.
2:30 – 3:00pm Sharing & Wrap-Up Showcase progress, feedback session, and fun games to finish the day.

Beatsabar Music Project is equipped with two recording studios and a rehearsal space. We offer enrichment activities to young people facing complicated situations, host music-based workshops for various age groups and abilities during holidays, and provide commercial bookings for professional recording artists. Over the past 10 ½ years, Beatsabar has been a prominent community recording studio in Wolverhampton, collaborating with schools, PRUs, youth intervention groups, charities and probation services. We've played a vital role in helping talented individuals acquire new skills, training, and employment opportunities.
