Hartlepool Stage Society Performing Arts Club

Our performing arts holiday club offers an exciting and engaging experience for children who love to be creative, have fun, and build confidence.
Throughout the session, participants will learn and perform songs, explore exciting choreography, develop acting skills through drama activities, and take part in a variety of fun games and team-building exercises.
Children will have the opportunity to make new friends, work together as part of a group, and express themselves in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Guided by experienced leaders, they will create a short performance showcasing everything they have learned, with parents and carers invited at the end of the session to enjoy a special presentation of their hard work and achievements. *Please arrive at 1:30pm for this performance

Do children need previous performing arts experience?
-No. Our summer school is open to all children, whether they are complete beginners or have previous experience in singing, dancing, or acting. Activities are designed to be fun, engaging, and suitable for a range of abilities.

What activities will children take part in?
-Children will enjoy a variety of performing arts activities, including singing, dancing, acting, drama games, team-building exercises, and creative workshops.

What should my child wear?
-We recommend comfortable clothing that allows children to move freely activities. Children must wear suitable footwear such as trainers or other secure, closed-toe shoes. For safety reasons, sandals, Crocs, boots, and other unsuitable footwear should not be worn. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather, as we may use our secure outdoor area for games.

Will there be a performance?
-Yes. Parents and carers will be invited at the end of the session to watch a short showcase performance, giving children the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned and celebrate their achievements.

Is the summer school suitable for shy children?
-Absolutely. We provide a supportive and encouraging environment where children can participate at their own pace, build confidence, make new friends, and develop their skills in a low-pressure setting.

Are refreshments provided?
-Children should bring a refillable water bottle. A healthy lunch will be provided as part of the programme. If your child has any dietary requirements or allergies, please let us know in advance. **PLEASE NOTE** We are a NUT FREE building

My child is sensitive to loud noises. Is the summer school suitable?
-Performing arts activities naturally involve singing, music, dancing, group games, and enthusiastic participation, which can create periods of elevated noise. While we strive to maintain a safe and supportive environment, the summer school may not be suitable for children who are highly sensitive to loud sounds. If you have concerns, please contact us before booking to discuss your child's individual needs.

How will children be supervised?
-Children will be supervised at all times by experienced coaches who are licensed chaperones with Hartlepool Borough Council. This includes enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding training, ensuring that children can participate in a safe, secure, and supportive environment throughout the summer school.
