Haiku Nature Poetry Workshop block mentored by Rochdale Learners
What we'll do
For children aged 7 to 12. In this session children will be giving the opportunity to create art from their natural surroundings. We will walk and gathering objects around us, discussing the different textures, sights and smells before learning about Japanese Haiku poetry which has a historic link to nature. Children will read some examples, learn what makes a haiku and have a go writing their own poetry based on their surroundings. Explore nature together and learn how to make a take home your own: - Haiku poem - Calligraphy with natural materials - Autumn tree painting
