What we'll do
From the moment children arrive at our Forest School Holiday Club, learning begins through curiosity, movement, and hands-on experience. We begin each session sat around the fire pit area where staff will make introductions and then talk through our safety rules and answer any questions our learners may have. The session then gently unfolds in the woodland, giving children time to explore, settle, and feel a sense of belonging in nature. They learn by doing: building shelters with natural materials, safely using tools to whittle and saw, lighting and tending a small campfire, and working together to solve real problems as they arise. Through nature games, wildlife exploration, and creative woodland challenges, children develop confidence, independence, resilience, and teamwork skills. Learning is child-led and meaningful, allowing each child to follow their interests while being supported to try new things, take safe risks, and reflect on their experiences in a calm, nurturing outdoor environment.
