A summary
Welcome to the HAF Holiday Club at Downs Junior School! This club is open to children attending Downs Juniors or infant School. Our spacious field is filled with sports equipment, allowing children to enjoy games like dodgeball and basketball. For those with a green thumb, we also have a gardening club where children can water plants, pick vegetables, and gather herbs from our herb garden. We aim to provide a fun and inclusive environment where children can engage in a variety of activities. If your child needs 1:1 support, please contact clubs to discuss available days before booking. PLEASE NOTE - FOR SUMMER HOLIDAY CLUB WE DO NOT HAVE A WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE TOILET. We have a wide selection of toys for children to explore and play with, including sensory toys to engage their senses and promote sensory development. Children can have a blast in our sandpit and enjoy the magical experience of blowing bubbles. Both indoor and outdoor libraries are also available for children to dive into the world of books. We also encourage participants creativity by involving them in designing the food menu, and when possible, we incorporate produce from our garden into the meals. At the HAF Holiday Club, we prioritise inclusivity and follow play principles to ensure that every child feels welcome and can participate in various activities. We strive to create a memorable and enjoyable holiday experience for all children attending our club. A few T&Cs from Brighton & Hove City Council: • Eligibility criteria – Brighton & Hove HAF funded places are for children and young people in reception to year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals. • Limits on bookings – Over the Spring holiday, Eequ will permit each eligible participant to be booked on to 16 HAF places across all providers in the city. If a session is not attended, HAF places cannot be added back on to an individual’s allocation, regardless of reason. It is therefore important that sessions are cancelled before the activity starts, and ideally giving a minimum of a few days’ notice where possible to allow other children to benefit. Bookings can be managed by the Booker by logging into Eequ and reviewing their Schedule.
