A summary
House of Culture Brighton – Spring/Easter HAF Programme (Ages 13–16) Bored of doing nothing over Spring/Easter break? We’re running Art & Wellbeing sessions just for teens – a safe, inclusive space to relax, get creative, and hang out. No pressure, no judgement, just good vibes. Here’s what’s on: ∙ Mixed Media Art – Drawing, painting, collage, printmaking – experiment and make something actually cool. ∙ 3D Art & 3D Printing – Clay, sculpture, plus digital making. Go traditional, go techy, or both. ∙ Film Discussions – Watch clips, chat about films, dig into big themes. Film club but way more relaxed. ∙ Creative Expression – Spoken word, storytelling, collaborative projects – find your voice or just see what happens. ∙ Spring Makes – Design original pieces to take home. Think less Easter bonnet, more proper artwork. It’s Not Just About Art There’s time to chill, reflect, and have real conversations about wellbeing, healthy habits, and how you’re actually doing. Free nutritious food at every session too – because creativity runs better when you’re fuelled up. Why Come? You don’t need to be “good at art.” It’s a space to express yourself, try something new, meet people, and look after your headspace. Whether you want to get messy with clay, debate films, or just have a chill afternoon – we’ve got you. Spaces are limited – grab your spot! A few T&Cs from Brighton & Hove City Council: • Eligibility criteria – Brighton & Hove HAF funded places are for children and young people in reception to year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals. • Limits on bookings – Over Spring, Eequ will permit each eligible participant to be booked on to 4 HAF places across all providers in the city. If a session is not attended, HAF places cannot be added back on to an individual’s allocation, regardless of reason. It is therefore important that sessions are cancelled before the activity starts, and ideally giving a minimum of a few days’ notice where possible to allow other children to benefit. Bookings can be managed by the Booker by logging into Eequ and reviewing their Schedule.

Creativity / Maker Mentor
My journey into creative mentoring started with my son, who’s neuro-divergent. Together we created The Sad Samurai to help him explore emotions through storytelling, which sparked my work supporting other young people through projects like Collective Minds, a mental health-focused theatre programme. I’ve completed Peer Support and Mental Health First Aid training, and I’m continuing to develop skills in youth coaching and facilitation. What I enjoy most is seeing confidence grow — when young people connect, express themselves, and feel heard.

Cancellation Policy
Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
