Delivered by Active Tameside and based at Active Kenward, the camp offers themed multisport sessions including target games, team games, invasion games, swim days, and creative activities. Each day includes structured activities and a hot, healthy meal in a safe and welcoming environment.

Promoting the excitement of gymnastics.
Active Ken Ward is our dedicated gymnastics centre, located in Hattersley. We have two gymnastics halls which are packed with equipment, including a trampoline, foam pit, bars, vaults, sprung floor, tumble tracks, beams and strength and conditioning equipment. All instructors are BG or IGA Qualified coaches. Our goal is to make sure everyone gets to enjoy the excitement and physical benefits of gymnastics. Our Misson Active Tameside’s mission is to provide the local community with outstanding leisure, pastime and holistic wellbeing activities which generate both social and economic benefits for our users. We do this in a sustainable manner that is both inclusive and socially considered. I have worked for Active Tameside for nearly 20 years now and worked in various roles including bikeability instructor, sports coach, sports development officer and now Head of Active Education. I enjoy working closely with local primary schools providing high quality PE & School Sport and providing pathways for children to take part in sport. Hobbies include long distance running for East Cheshire Harriers and season ticket holder at Manchester United!

SWIM DAYS AND OFF-SITE ACTIVITIES: CHILDREN SWIM ON FRIDAYS ONLY - AT COPLEY CENTRE WITH CHILDREN FROM ALL HOLIDAY CAMPS ACCROSS ACTIVE TAMESIDE. ON FRIDAYS CHILDREN WILL BE OFF SITE ALL DAY. PLEASE NOTE IF CHILDREN REQUIRE EARLY PICK UP THEY WILL BE BASED AT OUR COPLEY CENTRE. Children under the age of 8 will take part in a structured swim session Coaches and lifeguards are all staffed at pool side Children will engage in activities off site including nature walks, park visits and trips. Who is entitled to attend the provision? Children between the age of 5-12 in receipt of benefit related free school meals, that live and attend Tameside schools can apply for a free place. Eligibility for free places is approved by Tameside MBC. Please contact hafenquiries@tameside.gov.uk if you have any queries or disputes. Active Tameside have no control over the approval of free places which are allocated to families in receipt of free school meals. Will lunch be provided? All children will receive a healthy lunch that meets the requirements of the children's NHS nutrition team. Lunches will be ordered in advance. Out of consideration for any children with nut allergies, we kindly we ask that you do not bring any nuts or nut-containing items to camp. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe What items does my child need to bring? -Mobile phones are not permitted -Children must bring a swim kit on the swimming days -Please bring a water bottle
