20 July- Twigs CIC
A workshop to make and take home your own oak marble gall ink and learn about the significant historical uses of this ink in literature.
During this workshop with Twigs, participants will learn how to identify oak trees and their galls, learning about the species, how galls are created, and how to process these to make ink.
Twigs is a nature connection CIC led by Lucy Shepherd and Jodi Peck. We use natural materials, foraging and wildlife based activities to deepen people’s connection with the natural world. Our work blends creative activities with time outdoors to support wellbeing, confidence and a sense of belonging in nature.

Step into the world of textiles, paint and print!
Inspired by poetry and nature, students will explore pattern, texture, and mark-making through drawing and painting. Using these creative experiments as a starting point, they will develop their own unique fabric designs, playing with colour, repetition, and surface texture.
Participants will learn how to use fabric paints and traditional Indian block-printing techniques to create beautiful printed textiles. They will also discover the art of stitching and mending through Japanese sashiko and Indian kantha embroidery.
This hands-on workshop encourages experimentation, creative discovery, and personal expression, giving students the opportunity to develop their own designs in to a cushion cover, tote bag or t-shirt!
An artist Working with print and paint, Holly studied Fine Art at Central St Martins College of Art and later completed an MA in print and textiles at NUA. She regularly exhibits nationwide and teaches alongside her studio work. She is exhibiting in the RA Summer Exhibition this year!
31 July- Henry Driver
Create artwork for a game inspired by the local landscape!
Create artwork for a nature inspired video game by drawing, colouring in, and cutting paper! We
will create artwork and collages of trees, animals, birds, fish, insects, plants and habitats, all
inspired by the local landscape! Get a taste of how artwork is created for video games. Some of
the creations might then be put into our upcoming nature video game!
This workshop is run by local professional artist and game developer Henry Driver who has had
games published by BBC Arts and Future Friends Games, and exhibited in galleries across the
world including Tate Britain and Tate Liverpool.
7 August- Lucy Stuteley
Lucy’s workshops for The Blank Page Project are based around storytelling illustration. If you enjoy activities such as drawing, reading or gaming then you are also a storyteller with a spectacular imagination! In this workshop you will learn how to develop your storytelling skills through the art of illustration. Whether you've been to one of Lucy’s workshops before or not, this workshop will provide you with a key to unlock your imagination and see it flow through your fingertips and onto the page. The workshop involved group drawing activities as well as individual projects based on your own taste in stories. Being situated in the library, and with all of the illustration and watercolour skills Lucy will teach you, there will be plenty of inspiration to help create your illustrative masterpiece!
Lucy Stuteley is an illustrator and storyteller, she has over a decades worth experience in graphic design and illustration.
Alongside being a full time illustrator, Lucy hosts her 'Imagination Education Workshops' in schools, for charities (such as the 'Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity’) and for communities, to encourage analogue creativity and positive wellbeing. Lucy also sells products such as her “How to draw… Activity packs”.

Using Chance to Create Dance!
Step 1. Get moving! Explore a range of dynamic dance movements with a variety of props
Step 2. Roll the dice!
Step 3. Create a choreography that is made by chance. The dice decides the order, dynamics, music and props used in your choreography!
An introduction to dance and creative movement, using chance procedures (rolling the dice!) to decide how we piece a choreography together.
We will play games, explore different movements and props to build a choreography we can perform in the library.
Francesca is a contemporary dance artist, teacher and creative producer. She loves creating a collaborative and supportive experience in her workshops and bringing people together through dance.
21 August- Eloise Cookson
Do you enjoy drawing, new art-styles, and want to find a creative way to express yourself? Dive into the world of Stylised Self-portraits! In this workshop, Eloise will first introduce her own approach to self-portraits, drawing inspiration from styles like cartoons, anime, collage, pop-art, semi-realism and more! Throughout the day, we'll experiment with the diverse and unique ways to draw yourself with different portrait-making activities, from how to transform your features into a cartoon/anime style, to creating a 'persona' that represents you and your personality!
By the end of the workshop, participants will have spent the day drawing and exploring the world of self-portraiture, having created variety of self-portraits based on their own personality & interests.
Eloise is a local artist who specialises in digital art. Her work takes inspiration from manga & animation, and she takes interest in visual storytelling through character design & self-expression. As a young artist herself, Eloise is also passionate about providing in-person resources and guiding all young people interested in digital art and styles inspired by manga & animation.
