What we'll do
These sessions are ideal for new riders, nervous riders and wheelchair users! One to one and semi-private (usually 2 to 4 riders) 30-minute sessions will involve meeting, leading or a pony ride and possibly some aspect of pony care, like grooming. What we offer is adapted and depends on needs, abilities and preferences. Times will be arranged with families via text when they have booked via the eequ portal. (Please confirm by text within 24 hours when you have had a time offered). Please ensure that you arrive 15 minutes in advance of your booked time, to allow time for a riding hat and boots to be fitted (we supply these free of charge).

It's what you CAN do that counts!
Gartmore Riding School Riding for the Disabled Group is based in Staffordshire. Our activities include riding lessons, themed courses, social coffee mornings, and training in horse care (such as grooming). We have a beautiful rural site including a Learning Pathway that enables all our visitors to learn about our environment as well as horses. Our speciality is working with children, young people and adults with varying abilities and needs. We offer opportunities to people of all backgrounds, working to break down barriers—whether social, emotional, physical, or psychological. Our sessions can be tailored to suit abilities, needs and preferences!
Experience level
We never make you ride if you don't want to but you can meet a pony, lead a pony or spend time grooming one if that's your preference. It's your time so we take it at your pace and adapt to how you are feeling on the day!
