Gartmore 2 hour GROUP session

TWO HOUR GROUP SESSIONS ARE ONLY FOR MORE EXPERIENCED RIDERS WHO HAVE ALREADY BEEN TO US BEFORE AND ARE HAPPY TO WORK WITH AND AS PART OF A GROUP FOR TWO HOURS AND CONFIDENT ENOUGH TO BE WITH US HERE FOR THAT LENGTH OF TIME.

The place you book is for the named child only. The child who attends must be the same child named on the booking confirmation. We are unable to accept substitutions on the day (including siblings), as all sessions are planned in advance based on each child’s individual needs and safety requirements. Any child not named on the booking will not be able to take part in the session.

The sessions will help to build skills and independence. They usually involve an element of Riding and also Horse Care, like grooming and how to look after your pony.

** HOT WEATHER ALERT! IF IT TOO HOT FOR RIDING, WE WILL FOCUS OUR ACTIVITY ON PONY CARE AND RESERVE OUR RIGHT TO CHANGE ACTIVITIES ON THE DAY FOR THE WELFARE OF PARTICIPANTS AND OUR HORSES AND PONIES ** PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE ALL WEARING SUN CREAM BEFORE YOU COME TO US!

The sessions are themed and these change during the year. Some of them involve working towards a certificate from the British Horse Society or the Association of British Riding Schools. All of them gain a Rosette at the end!

If your child or young person has a medical condition, we may require prior, written approval for the RIDING part of this activity from a fully qualified Medical Professional. If this is the case, we will adjust the Riding element until we receive the written permission we need. This is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of each individual we work with.

Please arrive TEN MINUTES before your session so that you can be fitted with Riding Hat and Boots (that we supply free of charge) and complete our Permission to Ride forms that have to be done on EVERY occasion.

Parents/carers should be prepared to stay with their child unless agreed otherwise in advance.
At your child’s first session, we will take time to understand their individual needs and agree together whether they can safely take part without a parent/carer present.
Until this has been discussed and agreed, a parent/carer will be required to remain on site during the session.
Decisions about parental support are based on each child’s needs to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants and the animals.

Some of the group will ride or meet or lead a pony whilst the others do their Pony Care activity and then we swap groups so that everyone has chance to do everything on offer that session.

We have a beautiful and inspiring Learning Pathway that we also use to help with our work on Horse Care and looking after our environment!

Children must be able to work confidently for two hours in a group situation.
You will not be contacted by Gartmore Riding School prior to the session. If you book a place, please arrive on the day as the session will go ahead as scheduled - you will not be contacted by Gartmore Riding School in advance.
