A summary
Our Holiday Clubs at Coventry Transport Museum invite 7–11-year-old STEM enthusiasts to an exciting, hands-on experience where young people can explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths through specially designed activities.
This summer, we’ll be exploring sustainable inventions, coding and programming, and innovation. Alongside sessions led by our expert Learning Team, we’ll also welcome external STEM professionals who will inspire and guide children through engaging, practical activities. Each session helps build skills and confidence—and the more sessions children attend, the more they’ll learn and develop. It’s also a great opportunity to make friends with like-minded young innovators.
What does a typical day look like?
9:30am – 10:00am
Arrival, registration, lunch check, and settling-in activities
10:00am – 12:00pm
Facilitated STEM sessions led by industry experts. Children will meet real-world professionals who bring STEM careers to life through hands-on learning.
12:00pm – 12:30pm
Lunch (including a hot meal and dessert), supervised by our Learning and Engagement team to encourage a relaxed, social experience
12:30pm – 1:15pm
Explore the museum and enjoy free play time
1:15pm – 3:00pm
A choice of open-ended activities using a wide range of craft and STEM resources, or more focused projects supported by our Learning Team
3:00pm – 3:30pm
Tidy-up time and preparation for home, helping children build positive routines and responsibility
Our activities are inclusive, engaging, and designed to suit a range of abilities—perfect for children who enjoy creative, hands-on learning experiences.
With snacks, refreshments, and regular movement breaks included, our holiday club offers a balanced and rewarding day that parents can trust and children will look forward to.
This summer, we’re also adding some physical fun with a stationary cycling challenge. Using interactive bikes, children will be encouraged to collectively “cycle” virtual miles. Across the summer, we aim to travel the distance from John o’ Groats to Land’s End, inspired by Coventry’s world-record-setting cyclist Eileen Sheridan.

When you arrive:
When you arrive at Coventry Transport Museum, please make your way to the main reception area, which is a large desk area as you enter through the rotating doors.
You will see a member of our staff, wearing a purple CV Life uniform. This person works in the ticket area of the museum.
Let them know that you are here to attend the HAF programme and they will direct you to our Learning and Engagement Team, who will check you against the register and lead you to the workshop area.
Parent's are not required to stay, but they are welcome should the young person need their support.
Snacks and drinks are available during the day, but we do recommend bringing your own bottle of water with you too. Lunch will be served in the museum café, where your child can enjoy the social environment of the museum. This will be supervised by our team, with children seated together around a large table for relaxed time together. When you arrive in the morning, your child will have a menu with three hot meal options to choose from.
Children must be dropped off and collected by their parent/carer.
Experience level
We offer a relaxed and nurturing environment, where children can spend time exploring their interests in STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and develop their practical skills. critical thinking and experimenting with ideas through practical activities.
You will have the opportunity to explore the museum, guided by our Learning and Engagement team, where they will help your child make connections between the museum collections and the STEM links to them.
Your child will meet with other young people who share similar interests, and hopefully make friends along the way. For anyone who prefers to work independently, we will respect this and ensure you have space to enjoy your time with us in your own way.
Each day offers something new to learn and experience, with opportunities to work directly with experts in the industry.
We welcome repeat visitors, so please feel free to book more than one day with us.
