Newham Sports Club Futsal Academy - Autumn Term 2026

Weekly futsal coaching for Years 8 and 9, following our published 5-16 futsal curriculum.

WHEN: Mondays, 6-7pm

WHERE: Rokeby School, Barking Road, London E16 4DD

TERM: 14 sessions, Mon 7 September to Mon 14 December. No session at half term (26-30 October).

COST: £70 for the full term, or £10 for a single session.

THIS TERM - Advanced Tactical Systems & Intensity

Block 1 (Sep-Oct) Playing in the 3-1: futsal's foundational system in detail - one fix, two wings, one pivot - and what each is responsible for with the ball. "Hold the shape, move the ball."

Block 2 (Nov-Dec) Defending Systems: the main ways a futsal team defends, executed as a unit. "Decide together, move together."

WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL WORK ON

• The 3-1 in detail: zones, distances and roles
• Building out from the goalkeeper against a press
• The first structured rotation inside the 3-1
• Man-to-man and zonal defending
• The half-court press, the high press and the low block

BY DECEMBER YOU SHOULD SEE

The team plays a system you could name. Positions and distances start to look deliberate rather than instinctive, and you can see the plan from the sideline.

PLEASE NOTE

Our Monday academy groups move at pace, and not every child will be ready for that straight away. Where a coach feels a player would benefit from more time on the fundamentals, we may invite them to our Wednesday development session instead. It is always a coaching decision taken in the child's interest, and it is never permanent - players move between the two as they progress.
