FUELLED: Youth Fitness & Nutrition Academy – Girls

Join us this summer for our FREE 4-week Youth Fitness & Nutrition Academy for girls aged 11–16, funded through the Fuelled HAF Programme.

This exciting programme has been designed to help girls build confidence, improve their fitness, and learn how to use a gym safely in a friendly, supportive and non-judgemental environment.
Across 8 progressive sessions, participants will:
-Learn how to use gym machines and free weights safely
-Build strength, fitness and confidence
-Develop resilience, teamwork and leadership skills
-Learn about healthy eating through fun, practical nutrition activities
-Prepare healthy meals and smoothies
-Complete their own Youth Fitness & Nutrition Academy Logbook to track their progress

Each 3-hour session includes:
-Gym-based strength and fitness training
-Fun fitness challenges and team activities
-Nutrition workshops and practical food preparation
-A healthy lunch, snacks and smoothie bar
-Reflection and goal setting

Girls who complete the programme will receive a Youth Fitness & Nutrition Academy Certificate of Completion to celebrate everything they have achieved.

Whether you're completely new to the gym or already enjoy keeping active, this programme is a fantastic opportunity to gain confidence, make new friends and develop healthy habits that will last beyond the summer holidays.

What we'll do

Over the 4-week Youth Fitness & Nutrition Academy, girls will take part in eight fun and progressive sessions designed to build confidence, improve fitness and develop lifelong healthy habits.

Each session includes:
-Learning how to use gym machines and free weights safely and correctly.
-Taking part in strength and fitness sessions suitable for all abilities.
-Working in pairs and small groups to encourage teamwork, communication and confidence.
-Learning about healthy lifestyles, goal setting, resilience and positive habits.
-Preparing healthy meals, snacks and smoothies while learning about balanced nutrition, protein, carbohydrates, hydration and recovery.
-Completing a Youth Fitness & Nutrition Academy Logbook to record progress, learning and achievements throughout the programme.
-Reflecting on each session and setting personal goals to build confidence and independence.

The programme is designed to be fun, supportive and inclusive, helping girls feel comfortable in a gym environment while developing the knowledge and confidence to continue leading active, healthy lifestyles beyond the summer holidays.

The MoveMENt with New Beginnings CIC is a community-focused organization dedicated to improving mental and physical well-being. We provide personalized support through funded one-to-one personal training, counselling packages, and inclusive community programs. Our initiatives—such as Fuelled Sessions, Walk & Talk events, and Health & Hijabs—promote physical activity, mental health, and social connection. We aim to reduce isolation, break down barriers, and empower individuals to live healthier, happier lives.

Learning aims

Aim 1

Improve Physical Fitness and Confidence: Enhance strength, coordination, and self-confidence through fun, supportive, and empowering girls-only fitness sessions.

Aim 2

Understand and Apply Healthy Nutrition: Learn to make balanced meals & snacks, including smoothies, while understanding the importance of nutrition for a healthy lifestyle.

Aim 3

Promote Mental Well-Being and Positive Body Image: Encourage a positive body image and emotional well-being through mindful practices and celebrating achievements.
