About your mentor
The Community Kitchen
The Community Kitchen
We opened the Community Kitchen in May 2018. Since then, our state-of-the-art teaching kitchen has earned a reputation for inspirational classes – whether it’s a Masterclass with one of the city’s finest chefs, a course in world cuisine or a chance to pick up vital cooking skills. Our Kitchen is available for hire to groups too – and our social enterprise business model means that all profits support our community cookery courses. We want everyone to experience the benefits of cooking and eating together, regardless of finance, confidence or ability.
HAF Conditions
A few T&Cs from Brighton & Hove City Council: • Eligibility criteria – Brighton & Hove HAF-funded places are for children and young people in reception to year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals. • Limits on bookings – Over Summer, EEQU will permit each eligible participant to be booked on to 16 HAF places across all providers in the city. If a session is not attended, HAF places cannot be added back onto an individual’s allocation, regardless of reason. It is therefore important that sessions are cancelled before the activity starts, and ideally, giving a minimum of a few days’ notice where possible to allow other children to benefit. Bookings can be managed by the Booker by logging into EEQU and reviewing their Schedule.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
