Freedom Road Creative Arts Summer Dance Sessions!
A dynamic and vibrant dance programme that combines physical fitness, creative choreography and digital storytelling.
Over the course of these sessions, children and young people in Hull will participate in daily contemporary dance workshops, developed for dancers of all levels to get involved and have fun!
These sessions focus on improving coordination and increasing confidence to boost physical and mental health.
Alongside the dance training led by our professional dance teacher, young people will learn the fundamentals of "screen dance" from a professional film-maker.
The participants will collaborate to choreograph, film and edit a short dance movie using professional filming equipment. Rather than building toward a traditional stage performance, participants will explore how camera angles, framing and editing can capture the energy of their movement.
The programme will result in a digital premiere of their co-created screen dance, which will be shared with families and peers. We encourage SEND children / young people to get involved.
