A summary

We have been running Forest School at Glottenham for nearly 17 years, working with local schools, Home education and Scout groups and more recently with ESCC. This is our sixth year of ESCC funded provision

Amongst our team we have 2 qualified level 3 forest school practitioners, a Medical herbalist, a Dr of archaeology, artists, craftspeople, science and arts under graduates, and between us many years of environmental, conservation and outdoor learning experience.

We have seen first hand how engagement with nature has a huge beneficial effect on people both young and old, and really enjoy how tech and social media quickly get forgotten as they get engrossed in what they are doing.

During school holidays we are offer a number of two or three day course for children aged 11-16, with 12 places available for each block of sessions. Please book your child into ALL days on ONE block, as the activities on each day build on the previous..

**Single day bookings may be approved only if there are spare spaces just before the class is due to start, so be aware that requests for a single day will be held on hold until a few days before the activity.**

Our forest school specialises in helping build confidence in children who are nervous/ shy and have anxiety problems, and we do a lot of work with children with an ASD diagnosis.

**Because of the location and nature of activities /tools we do not work with children with behavioural or complex needs, although we are happy to discuss separate provision that may be more suitable. If you have questions about your child's suitability please get in touch.**

***This activity has been funded through the the UK Government's Crisis and Resilience Fund and coordinated by East Sussex County Council. Fully funded places are available for young people eligible for targeted benefits-related free school meals. Additionally young people in several other target cohorts can attend funded places, such as those with SEND or Looked After Children (LAC). Please note, eligibility will be confirmed as part of the booking process.***
