What do we do at our camps?
Our HAF camps provide multi-sport activities, creative crafts, themed weeks and enrichment sessions, including visits from the fire service and first aid specialists. Children take part in teamwork games, skill challenges, and daily competitions, all designed to keep them active, confident, and engaged.

What are the camp hours?
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Cut-off for entry: 9:15 AM. Activities start promptly, and staff must stay with their groups to maintain safe ratios.
How do I book a HAF spot?
All HAF bookings are made through Tameside Council via their EEQU website. For support with booking, email molly@fifthmovement.co.uk.
Access to St Stephen’s?
Ring the number on the FIFTH Movement sign outside the school. This will connect you to the camp leader, who will guide you in. Late pick-ups will incur charges.
How can I pay for the camps?
HAF camps are free for eligible children (those entitled to free school meals)
What age range do you accept?
Our camps are for children aged 5–11 years. Children aged 11 must still be in primary school to ensure activities are appropriate.
What should my child bring?
Water bottle
Clothing suitable for indoor and outdoor activities
Change of clothes (if needed)
Required medication (inhalers, EpiPens- labelled)
No Mobile Phones allowed
What activities will my child do?
Activities depend on the camp theme and the specialisms of staff on site. Typical activities include:
Multi-sports
Crafts and board games
Enrichment visits
Teamwork games, skill challenges, and competitions

Can my child walk home alone?
No. Children must be dropped off and collected by an adult (18+) for safety and safeguarding compliance.
How do you support children with special requirements?
We welcome children of all abilities. Parents must provide full details at booking. While 1:1 support is not available, we make reasonable adjustments to help children participate safely.
Allergies and medical needs?
HAF camps are nut-free. Parents must disclose allergies or medical needs in advance and provide all required medication. Children cannot attend without completed forms or required medication.
Are the staff qualified?
Yes. All staff have:
Enhanced DBS checks
Safeguarding and first aid training
Relevant sports qualifications
Passed our safer recruitment checks
How do you safeguard children?
All HAF staff follow safeguarding policies and government guidance. Emergency contacts must be up-to-date, and staff must maintain safe practices to ensure all children’s welfare.
Will my child be photographed or filmed?
Photos and videos may be taken for marketing purposes. Parents can opt-out during booking.
How do you communicate with parents during the camp?
Updates are shared via email and social media. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook for news.
What happens if my child is ill when at camp or has an accident?
Parents are contacted immediately. First aid is provided by trained staff. Children must stay home for 48 hours after illness or treatment.
Collection policies?
If you are running late, please contact the camp leader directly or email molly@fifthmovement.co.uk, who will relay the message. Please note that late collections will incur an additional charge. Repeated late collections may result in your child’s place at the camp being reviewed.
Do you run themed weeks or enrichment activities?
Yes! HAF camps run themed weeks, including seasonal themes like winter sports, crafts, and other special activities to keep children engaged and active.
