A summary
Come and enjoy making and cooking pizza, muffins and biscuit decorating. Children will be encouraged to follow recipes, method and cooking, learning about nutrition and portion size incorporating the eat well plate supported by their parent/carer, then to eat for lunch. Parent / carers must stay for the whole session with their child/ren. In addition to this, there will be fun activities making summer crafts to take home. The focus will be on healthy lifestyles engaging the children in cooking activities to help them develop skills to enhance confidence, self-esteem and resilience, children will be supported by their parent carer throughout the session, limited places will be available for younger siblings but will be welcome. Our children's centres are becoming Best Start Family Hubs. This is an exciting step forward in how we support families across the East Riding. This change shows we will always work to give families the right help, at the right time, in the right place. It also gives us the opportunity to work more closely with other organisations and professionals in your community. Get support for the whole family Best Start Family Hubs support the whole family, not just young children. They bring together services for: early years children, including babies and toddlers nursery, primary and secondary school children young people up to age 19. Support may continue until age 25 for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). They also offer guidance on pregnancy, parenting, and family wellbeing to anyone who cares for a child or children aged up to 19, or up to 25 for young people with SEND, including: parents-to-be parents foster carers grandparents. This includes support for home learning, sessions at your local family hub and one-to-one advice. Sessions and activities Your local family hub runs sessions and activities, including: learning through play sessions for children of all ages and stages, including inclusive activities for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) workshops for parents and carers, including antenatal education, Togetherness parenting courses and breastfeeding support sessions. perform simple food skills safely with a focus on spreading, cutting with scissors, tearing, grating and present food attractively

To research the characteristics and functions of a range of ingredients and apply them when preparing and cooking a dish.

To apply the principles of food safety and hygiene when cooking. To practice safe knife handling skills when preparing vegetables.

To safely and successfully prepare and cook the Quick Pizza recipe following verbal and written instructions
