Family Make & Take Sessions

Emily

A summary
Our Family Make & Take Sessions provide a chance for local families to have fun crafting and making something useful to take home. What a lovely activity to do together on a Saturday afternoon!
Multiple workstations will be set up, each offering a unique craft. This way, children and adults can choose their preferred activity or hop from one station to another, trying their hands at different crafts. There will be two of us floating around the room helping people to get started and inspiring with different ideas and options. While the session promotes self-exploration and creativity, we will be available to assist you, ensuring that each craft feels manageable.
Who is the craft for?
We've ensured that different crafts are suitable for the different age groups attending. We will bring some baby and toddler toys to amuse any very young ones while their older siblings and adults craft. Some basic colouring sheets and paper cutting activities will be out for this age group too.
Older children and adults can indulge in the slightly more complex projects that make them feel they've accomplished something.
As an adult, please feel welcome to do as much or as little crafting as you feel comfortable with. If you'd like to try making a craft and spend some time on yourself while your children craft, this should hopefully be possible. At the same time, if you feel like you'd prefer to support your children and not craft at all, that's also fine. We want you to be comfortable and happy and to go home having spent some of your precious Saturday time doing what works for you and your family.

Halloween Decorations Session:
Together, we'll create delightful Halloween decorations: Some lavender scented material pumpkins, strings of ghosts paper chains, and decorating jars in a variety of ways to put tealights in. Whether you want to jazz up your home for Halloween or just keep them as keepsakes, these crafts are sure to add that personal touch to Halloween this year.
Winter Wreath Making:
Together as a family you can create a wreath for your door to cherish. We will provide some simple materials and suggest different methods for you to make a handmade creation with a personal touch for this winter season. There will be smaller activities for younger children too.
Christmas Table Decorations and Gifts:
A chance to make some handmade gifts to give for Christmas and some jolly decorations for the table for Christmas. Among other things, we'll help you create fun handprints on canvas squares to give away, decorative candle holders that spice up the dining table, and other small handmade gifts varying in difficulty level for different ages.
Premises and facilities
There are four parking spaces in the venue's car park, plus an additional eight spaces next door in the car garage we are allowed to use. It is a residential road so there may be some spaces along there or nearby too.
There are toilets and a kitchen for filling up water bottles or heating baby milk, but please try to eat before you come so that there is enough time for crafting.
We will set up tables and chairs beforehand so you won't have to stand for long.
There are two disabled parking spaces at the venue and accessible floor levels to get wheelchairs in and out.
