What we'll do
Exceed Reading Star provides structured holiday sessions where children can stay active, creative and socially engaged in a safe and supportive environment. Each day follows a balanced timetable including physical activity, creative workshops, team games and social time, allowing children to try a range of activities and build confidence at their own pace. Sports & Physical Activity Children take part in daily movement sessions to support health and wellbeing: • Football and basketball games • Dodgeball and relay challenges • Team sports and cooperative games • Movement circuits and fitness activities • Outdoor playground activities Creative & Practical Workshops Children explore creativity and practical skills through: • Art and craft projects • Design and building challenges • Drama and role-play activities • Photography and creative expression tasks Baking & Food Skills Children participate in supervised baking activities where they: • Prepare and decorate simple baked items • Learn measuring and basic kitchen skills • Practice hygiene and safe food handling • Work together in small groups Games & Social Activities Sessions also include relaxed group activities to encourage friendships and communication: • Board and table games • Group challenges and competitions • Team-based tasks Food & Healthy Living Children receive a nutritious meal and snack each day. Sessions include discussions about healthy choices, hydration and positive routines. Trips & Experiences Where scheduled, children may visit local parks or activity venues, supporting confidence, teamwork and exploration in new environments. Daily Structure & Support Sessions follow a consistent routine including welcome circle, activities, meal time and reflection. Activities are delivered in supervised small groups with quiet spaces available. All activities are adaptable to different ages and abilities. The programme provides a welcoming environment where children can remain active, make friends and enjoy positive holiday experiences.

Eligibility criteria
Lambeth HAF-funded places are for children and young people in reception to year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals and attend a school in Lambeth. (Please note, this is different to universal free school meals that are available to all school-aged children) Each child can book up to 4 sessions this spring with any provider.
Learning aims
Aim 1
Physical Development: Enhance motor skills, coordination, and stamina through multi-sports, movement games, and active play to build strength and fitness.
Aim 3
Creative & Cognitive Development: Encourage creativity and problem-solving through arts, crafts, baking, and reading challenges that inspire curiosity.
Aim 5
Social & Emotional Growth: Build teamwork, confidence, and communication through peer-led activities, team games, and supportive group challenges.
Aim 2
Nutrition, Health & Well-being: Promote healthy eating and wellbeing through cooking workshops, balanced meals, and mindfulness-based reflection.
Aim 4
Fun, Enrichment & Inclusion: Provide engaging activities and trips like ice skating, swimming, and soft play to spark joy and lasting memories.
